Battery depleting even though it is at idle

I am a new owner of a givenergy 8.5kw battery and as winter is setting in, last night my battery drained to 4% and stopped supplying the house as expected as that is what the settings are set at. but by the next morning it has dropped to 2%. Please can you tell me if this is normal I would have thought it would have stopped at 4% and wouldn't be able to drain anymore, but somehow it was still slowly draining and over the next 8 hours it drained another 2% and it probably will keep going untill 0% and if the sun doesn't come up in the next hour or so to get it charging again.
in my books this puts the battery at danger of being damaged, please can you tell me if I could have a faulty inverter or battery or something else.

chalfontcrew I'm no expert but it looks like your battery behaved as you would expect. The State of Charge (SoC) dropping from 4% to 2% could be an actual small discharge, but more likely (IMO) a variation in measured voltage as the battery temperature changed, or a re-calculation of SoC based on the measured changes. However, I would have hoped you would have been able to put something back into the battery during the course of the day, unless you've had really horrible weather. We've had a much brighter afternoon and have topped our batteries up to 100% (indicated SoC) now and even some export.

Thank you for the reply, yes the weather was very gloomy that day but it did brighten up and it was able to charge it up to 30 ish percent by the end of the day,
I was just worried about the battery fully depleting, which I think it will as winter sets in, I was wondering if in a month or so should I set the minimum battery level to say 10 % so that no damage can happen, and I can always to it up from the grid if I am forced to, .

chalfontcrew your warranty is based on Givenergy forcing the 4% end stop so you don’t need to do anything. You could increase the minimum to 10% but there’s no guarantee that with all reports of sudden SoC drops, it would make any meaningful difference. Your call.

Oh to have my battery slowly drain to 4%......Never seen this happen once!!
