There seems to have been an update overnight as this morning have noticed that my battery was busy taking grid energy to charge outside of the scheduled times. When I tried to stop it using the Quick Settings (play/pause/charge/discharge) I noticed it was missing from the display. Also, on the iPhone and iPad displays the settings ‘cog’ where I would go for the charge modes brought up a different menu related to some of the new interfaces. I eventually found where to restore the Quick Settings buttons in the main menu > preferences sub menu. Whilst doing this I noticed the visible Home Screen changes between landscape and portrait wherein a second settings ‘cog’ appears when in portrait. When selected this brings up the original System Modes menu. In summary the update to this version seems to drop the user preferences and alters the screen layout and menu options. I tried to see if I had missed something to this effect in the release notes but this version isn’t listed at time of posting. Also I had to cycle the quick settings to get the system to recognize the selected setting.
If this was an update it’s disappointing that user preferences weren’t maintained or that I wasn’t signposted to the corrective actions and consequently I drew unwanted grid power. On the plus side I spotted it early.
