Will my battery discharge/function when there is a local planned grid power cut?

No, not unless you have wired in the EPS. And that only supplies small amounts.

Zakalwe As an explanation. Your inverter has to disconnect itself from the grid (and therefore the house) if the grid goes down. This is because Network Engineers will not want your system discharging to the grid whilst they are working on it. If your system has been installed to provide an EPS circuit in the event of a grid shut down it can only supply a limited current and not support a whole housee. Anything attached in such a way needs to be on a special circuit which is or can be detached from the grid whilst the EPS is running.

There needs to be a "sticky" at the top of this forum as the same questions are asked and answered over and over again
"Will my batteries power the house in a power cut?"
"How do I stop draining the batteries when charging the car?"
"Why am I seeing small exports when my batteries aren't full?"
"Why am I importing when the Sun is shining?"

Cdent Or they could start providing an actual manual of some sort... That'd be nice...
