Smart tariff with octopus agile

Hi, I am on octopus agile and have set the smart tariff to standalone battery-eco mode to operate. I was expecting this function to charge my battery automatically during the cheap night time periods.
Has anyone got this function to work?
Or is this a new function that is still not optimised?
My manual charging does work so I can revert to that if all else fails.
I know other people have experienced this problem and would appreciate feedback if they have successfully solved it using the available GE program.
