I have the awful British Gas smart export tariff which has an exceedingly low payment. Therefore I would like to stop my battery feeding into the grid and use the power in the house, with any excess generation then exporting to the grid.
As a newbie, is this possible and if so what should I setup to achieve this?

British Gas - poor you!! Do you have a hot water tank with an immersion heater? You could consider a diverter like an iboost or eddie, which will mop up an excess solar after your battery is full, and give you a tank of hot water rather than exporting at the dire British Gas rate. It may not benefit you now, as there is not a lot of excess solar, but I've found I can turn my boiler off completely over the summer and just use the sun to heat my water.
