The little tick up from 98% to 100 and back to 98% then going idle until it discharges a few % has been happening every day for about 10 days, prior to that it would go all the way to 100% before going idle, its not really a big deal in terms of how it operates but seems a bit strange, anyone else getting this ?
funny tick between 98% & 100% ?
My battery doesn't seem to behave like that but still similar. What I noticed is that it doesn't like to charge the battery when the displayed SOC is above 96%.

So, I don't think there is anything wrong with your battery, but let's hear what the experts say.
spawneydave I've seen a similar thing on mine where it'll get to 100% and dump energy till it's back to 98%. I've always put this down to a calibration difference. But I'm no expert.

thewhalw21 Exactly the same for me. Charges to 100% and then drops to 98% and stays there.
ProximusAl I've read alot of people that say there's gets to 100% and then their solar shuts off. Maybe this is a "work around" on newer installs. Mines < 1 month old

thewhalw21 Mine was installed 2 weeks ago, and it has done this since install.

ProximusAl WHat Inverter serial please, I will take a look

TheDragon (GivEnergy) EA2302G822, if you have time to look at mine aswell 🙂
TheDragon (GivEnergy) CE2219G060 🙂

TheDragon (GivEnergy) Not sure if you've done something or not on mine, but I can now see the update firmware button is available. I will not do anything at all until you have confirmed you have finished looking 🙂

TheDragon (GivEnergy) Thanks ever so much!! Really appreciate it.
On an absolutely minor note, on mine the picture of my HY5 Gen2 shows a Gen 1 (Dongle sticking out the bottom, whereas my Gen 2 has a little Wi-Fi antenna). This is absolutely minor, but wondered if this is expected?
TheDragon (GivEnergy) Thank you kindly
I see exactly the same:
Is this a firmware or BMS thing ? ( ED2248G036)
justpassing I think so, I was on 906, now on 994. Still got a battery update pending but SOC has been stable at 100% now. Tho the battery is still charging and discharging every 5 mins. Think it may just need to calibrate itself again with the update.
ProximusAl Hey, have you updated to the new battery version? Mine seemed to only calibrate back up to 20% then stopped and wouldn't charge or discharge.

thewhalw21 ill sort that, be same issue as Prox.
It will calibrate up now
Feel free to temper the charge power if you wish, just takes longer
TheDragon (GivEnergy) Cheers, Was just scrolling through Prox's messages in the Beta thread and was about to ping you a message. Thanks for sorting 🙂

thewhalw21 Hands up, my bad. When the Inverter FW went on, the Inverter needs a full total initialize. I forgot, so the symptom it will only grid charge to 20% and stop.
So thanks fro reminding me
TheDragon (GivEnergy) No probs 🙂 Thanks again

Sorry to hijack your thread but I seem to be having the same 98%-100% problem. I was hoping the problem would resolve after the battery firmware update but it hasnt. It seems to get to 100 percent then dump 2 or 3 percent to the grid and sit at idle. My s/n is ED2248G069
Same issue as above 100% dropping to 98% idle ED2152G223 again assumed battery firmware would fix.

I wonder if @TheDragon can help us? 😀
Mine cycles too between 98 and 100% but only when charging from grid. From solar it stays at 100%.
3012 didn't fix this issue as i believe it's an inverter issue rather than a BMS one. The forthcoming inverter FW might fix it?

This is fixed with an inverter firmware which is still in testing. As far as I can remember, Gen 2 hybrids have a fix, Gen 1 next then AC units.

THALL thanks for the reply. Any idea when the gen 2 inverter firmware will be released? Alternatively could I become a Beta tester? I'm impressed with the new BMS firmware, my battery capacity is much higher since the update. Fingers crossed the inverter update will fix the problem and I'll be a happy man.
