Valid settings for Battery & PV system?

Well, I've just messed up again. Battery discharged overnight to help charge my car, but did not charge to 50% as set in the Timed Charge.

My fault was to move the App setting to Charge with 'Solar only'. (Seemed like a good idea at the time) This must have overridden the Timed Charge setting in Inverter Settings - which promised to 'force charge' my battery from the grid during a period I defined. I have moved the setting back to Solar + Battery now and think I can see why.

I would be grateful for a sense check on what I wish to achieve and how to get it.

So I want to charge my battery during the day from the solar panels. This works fine at the moment. They reach 100% charge in the afternoon usually and start to export. I want to then run on battery until 23.30 when my cheap rate kicks in. I have set the battery to 50% charge in Inverter Settings>Timed Charge>Charge To slider. I have enabled this and set the time to my cheap rate hours 23.30 to 05.30.

Now my intention is for the battery not to charge overnight unless it goes below 50%. This should be enough to get through the morning until PV kicks in and the whole process starts again.

In the event that I need to EV charge, the battery combines with the Grid at the moment, about 50/50 each, which nearly empties the battery. I'm hoping to get the battery to then charge itself back to about 50% for the morning load. So far, I have failed miserably. I suspect that I do not fully understand the settings, their hierarchy and dependencies, and the different roles of the App and the Portal.

Any advice about the above would be appreciated, but it would help me to establish some basics.

The Charge mode - 'Solar only' in the App seems to override the Timed Charge battery setting in the Portal. (In the sense that it will not charge the battery during the 'Force Charge' period)
The Portal Inverter>Settings>Timed Charge>Start Time:End Time should correspond with the Cheap Rate times. ( I use Intelligent Octopus)
In the App, the Battery Charge Settings>Start Time: End Time should be the same as the Portal Inverter>Settings>Timed Charge times.
The Inverter>Settings>'Charge to' can be set to 50% and should achieve that level by the end of the specified time. (I've never managed to do this in two months, although I have set it a few times, before and after joining Intelligent Octopus)
In the App the Battery Charge settings>'Charge up to' should be the same as the Inverter setting. In my case 50%

Many Thanks in advance

Best to just use the web portal settings rather than the app (see the MyInverter tab, then scroll across to settings option)

Eco on

Timed charge on

Discharge/export off

Thanks TX200
I have set it to that now. Fingers crossed to get a 50% charge tonight.
