We have recently had a GE battery and hybrid inverter installed together with 14 solar panels. We are still trying to get to grips with the GE portal and app and have very recently switched our tariff to Octopus Flux Import and Export as we wanted to make the most of our excess generation.
We have altered the inverter settings to charge the battery during the 'cheaper' night period between 02:00 and 05:00 and to 'export' in the peak period of 16:00 and 19:00. The settings make it clear that the inverter will 'hold' the power in the battery until the export period, meaning that the battery power is not used to counteract any peaks in consumption during the day. Although we understand this, it results in us having to take power from the grid at certain times and especially when the solar is inadequate.
Is there a halfway house setting that we can consider that allows us to force an export from the battery to maximise the 'income'; from our excess generation whilst using some of the capacity stored in the battery during the day? I understand that some people manually export excess generation and only set up the import schedule. I can't see how to do this. Is there any other way for us to set up the inverter to export and use the battery during the day? I do not understand how the battery options settings come in or when they should be used. Any help would be much appreciated.

If you force export you will have to manually reset to Eco as the GE portal cannot reset to Eco after a timed export.
You should look to go to Home Assistant or WonderWatt to get things working correctly.
HA will allow all sorts of clever things you mash wish to think up.
I think WonderWatt is more basic and works, but I have never tried.

Do a post search for how the portal descriptions of the decriptions and how they really work (or not)
Take a look at this. https://kb.givenergy.cloud/article.php?id=7&oid=2
