I had a manual EPS installed by local electrician and GivEnergy said the system needed to be recommisioned by the original installer. Today they came to do the annual service and agreed to recommision the system for the EPS at the same time.

However, when they went into the portal and added the EPS information, the GivEnergy system said the battery firmware had to be updated before the recommision could take place even though I didn't have a problem with the old firmware.

So the battery firmware got updated, then the system recommision started. After which, the battery recalibration started...

Battery spent the afternoon dumping its charge, then just as the Octopus Flux peak period approached, went into full recharge mode. 😮

Moral of the story, if there are pending firmware upgrades and you need a recommision, do the upgrades yourself beforehand at a time that suits you, so they aren't swept up in the recommision.
