Hi, I know the days aren't as long, but my battery has gone from being 100% last week to just 4% each morning rising to 30% during the day, I've got 9 panels with large battery and optimizers. X

We have the Octopus Flux tariff, so I charge our 5.2kWh battery to 100% between 3 and 5 am when electricity is cheap. It falls to about 80% before the sun comes up. It then generally charges to 100% over the day and starts exporting and easily gets us past the 4 pm to 7 pm expensive import patch and runs out in the early hours of the morning if it has been a dull day. When very sunny it lasts until it is charged again, so the charge is less.

Only had the system a couple of weeks, so today is probably the dullest day and we have already fallen to 59% at midday whereas we had 100% at midday yesterday, so it remains to be seen whether it will get us past the expensive phase this afternoon. If it looks like it wont we will have to charge in the hour before at the middle price range so not really lost anything as that is the normal price we would have paid without solar.

Fortunately we live in Tenerife in the winter and go in a couple of weeks, so we don't need to cope with the very short days. We have 11 panels and that is predicted to generate more than we need for every month except this one but our battery is not big enough to avoid importing during the flux cheap time when are just borrowing it as we export it again at a few pence more when the sun is up, which should cover the losses.
