I need to remove the SD card from one of my batteries but it is stuck in with a gum material (for transport I assume). Has anyone else had this issue and how did you remove the gum? I've pulled quite hard on it but am wary about damaging the connection between the port and the board.

Additionally, is it safe enough to just turn the battery off and flip the breaker on it, or would you power down the whole system before messing around inside the battery case?
