I installed GivEnergy plugs a while ago and opened an account. Since then I have installed solar panels and GivEnergy inverter and battery storage. My solar installer opened a new account for me but when I try to register my plugs on new solar account it indicates they are already registered under a different account and won’t allow me to re-register. Advice on how to transfer plugs on to my solar installation account would be appreciated. PS I am not particularly tech savvy so simple explanation also appreciated. Thank you.

I'm not 100% sure you can move them. I think I've read something saying it isn't possible on here somewhere.

But maybe try deregistering them from your old account, if there is such an option.

I am pleased to say that GivEnergy Service Desk sorted the issue for me. All my earlier registered plugs have been moved to my solar and battery storage system. More plugs have been purchased and all working and monitoring well. Whether they actually save me money is debatable as clearly turning plugs off when not in use is the obvious way, but it does add to the information I have in where energy is being used and when and how much.

I had a similar issue, but in my case, the GE 2nd Line Service Desk was able to merge my newer AIO/Gateway accounts (that my installer recently created) into an older GE account associated with my GE Smart Plugs.

There appears to be an glitch for the Installers when doing a hardware commission for the customer, that forces them to create a new GE account quite unnecesarily. The commissioning portal did recognise my old account, but they could not progress without creating a new a/c, despite several attempts.

Thanks go out to Adam at GE Support for a prompt resolution to the issue and he disabled the two unwanted accounts after merging all the details into the original.
