Hi all,
(Foreword - NOT a GivEnergy issue - Thank you to everyone that helped with all my questions and issues over the past 8 months)

Finally have a working solar system in place by E.ON. The system was first installed on March 30th, and it’s been fixed yesterday!

My rant:
I’ve had to be an electrician for 2 months while the system tripped every day (over loading) and spend every day discovering which inverter was tripping. Install the CT clamps correctly / rewiring loose connections. We’ve had 3 inverters replaced, missing solar panels, panels incorrectly positioned on roof. The list goes on and on of problems.
( I’ve managed to fix myself most of these issues with the help of this community 🎉🎉)

Stress and arguments that this has caused with my new wife. Dealing with issues whilst on honeymoon..!

And E.ON have offered me £250 as a good will for all the issues I’ve had with them! Seriously, it’s a £20,000+ system and that’s what they think is acceptable for doing their job!!!

What %% would you accept?? Would like to know if anybody else has had issues with an installation, especially with E.ON

Rant over 🤯🤬🤬🤯

Yes I had similar issues with EON, wrong batteries initially, loose panels, loose batteries, loose connections, dangling cables, rounded off screws (and missing) in the battery covers, consumer unit too low - appalling quality of install (Snug Energy !), had to have it completely redone.
EON themselves were helpful, but really slow, they did eventually sort it with their installers (Snug Energy)
It took months and I only got £250 as well.
It looks great now and working fine. Apart from the ongoing issue I have with them mis-selling the 5.2kWh batteries, still with ombudsman about that one !
