Hi All. When during the day my battery reaches 100% and I am producing plenty of solar power ,Is there a programme or device that will automatically switch on one of your wifi sockets for an Electric Heater .Then switch of when the Battery reaches say 80%. As you can see I am trying to use Most of the solar power I am producing .At this time of year (mid November) I need about 60% battery power from sundown to Sunup for domestic consumption .Thanks Bob

You can run it on a PC/Mac using a virtual machine that’s on 24/7 or Raspberry PI etc
Make sure you check what rating the smart plug is in terms of amps, as switching on a heater via a smart plug could end badly (either for the plug itself or worse the house).
There may be options to turn on a circuit using a relay, but that might cost more.
Although generally the heater safety guides will say never use a time for a heater (I guess in case something accidentally dropped on it and covered it etc)
Yeah I'd be wary of turning on a heater unattended, if it's fan or element heater. I do switch an oil-filled radiator remotely, though - that should be relatively safe.
Or just get yourself a good export rate, rather than worrying about self-consumption?
You can buy smart heaters that have WiFi inbuilt and have decent moulded plugs if you’re worried about safety.
