Remove control via "API - Inverter Settings"

Like many people i was trying to take advantage of an Octopus saving session. However, after setting invertor to take advantage at the correct times, the scheduled times were subsequently changed via "API - Inverter Settings". How do i stop this happening?

There is some external agent controlling your system. There are several candidates

• Axle, if you have signed up to their savings scheme
• Octopus R&D labs if you have enabled any automations
• one of the systems that automatically set your overnight charge target (I forget their names)

It would be nice if agents actually identified themselves when making changes - eg my local scripts identify themselves (via the 'context' field in the API request), and this gets recorded in the log.

Perhaps if you give the time at which the change was made, someone might be able to guess which agent from that (if they have changes at the same time).

To prevent it, you could try revoking API tokens you have given out.

Thanks DD. That makes sense. Think it may be Octopus R&D labs as i remember a discussion with them during removal of a non-working smart meter and a new one being installed. I'll investigate how i stop Octopus, stopping me taking advantage of their own saving session.

I can confirm that Axle DO identify themselves in the inverter commands, which as DD points out is a “Good Thing” - from memory, pretty sure Octopus R&D don’t.
