i have just completed a full year since the batteries were installed and to track how effective they have been i kept a detailed spreadsheet. so i started with an array of 10kw export limited by DNO to 8kw, then we added 2 off 9,5kw batteries and an ac coupled gen 2 inverter. I started the period on paid export and transferred onto flux at the end of March.
At the end of a year that wasn't very good in terms of weather and solar production, we had production of 9718kw & consumption of 6207kw which resulted in my octopus account generating a profit of £365 the account is actually in credit to £767 because of the money the government gave us last winter. i also calculated the value of our self-consumption which amounted to £1677 so a combined saving of £2237 which is a pretty good start at paying off the £10000 investment in the batteries. we are lucky enough to still be on a FIT tariff that generated a further £1611 so i can only be delighted with our investments. as for the GE system apart from the early period when we had some SOC issues its been trouble-free, even the software updates that have caused a few issues for some have been routine. I dont mess with settings much, its on Eco, and for the winter period i have a timed charge from 2am to 5 limited to 50%
