I have a problem I think. My home dashboard shows my home power use at approx. 300w, I have tried switching off individual appliances etc but seem unable to locate a source that accounts for it. Does anyone know how much power Givenergys battery/inverter and gateway use?

My GEN3 hybrid only uses about 30-40W when it is idle. It can burn 300W when it is converting say 3kW when it is sunny or the house load is high.

I had a similar issue a few times a day for around 20mins each time - up to a draw of 500w. Turned out to be the American style fridge/freezer doing its defrost cycle every so often. There was no obvious sign it was doing anything and the plug socket was behind it so made it difficult to get at, but I managed eventually to pull it out and switch it off in its cycle and the power dropped back to normal.

Don't forget that stuff like smoke detectors and other hardwired kit can draw power all the time. Turn off each breaker in the CU in turn to find what's causing the draw.

Our septic tank has a pumped system that puts 1KW spikes in at regular intervals too....

Yes it is very annoying that GE just sample every 5 minutes and don't do any averaging. Any motor will draw a large current at start up but probably only for about 100ms - 200ms, so it is completely bogus to plot it on a graph and show it lasting 5 minutes.
