This may be a silly question, but I want to avoid a nasty surprise later on. I want to paint the wires between my inverter and battery so they don’t stand out so much - that wouldn’t be an excuse to invalidate the warranty would it?

Do you really mean wires or sheathing?

If its sheathing Id go buying new sheathing same size and cover the old with it (so the split is to the back)

Painting could lead to issues with paint going where it shouldn't - if you wanted to really paint the idea of buying new white sheathing and painting that, and letting it dry before covering would remove those potential issues.

Worth checking with fitter maybe
