EV charger / app issues

Hi, I have the all in one battery, plus the givenergy EV charger, and I'm having some issues:

I generally have the ev charger on "Solar" mode, in the hope that it will only charge using excess Solar. However, it seems that sometimes in this mode, it decides to draw power from the grid. Why is it doing this? If it insists of taking extra power, I'd rather it take this from the battery, as that has generally been charged using cheap overnight power, or solar, but it doesn't. Even though I've got the setting off that says prevent draw from the battery (although it says this only applies in grid and hybrid mode anyway?).

In an attempt to stop it drawing power from the grid when charging using solar, I've tried paying with the maximum charge power. However the app seems to change this to some random value a few minutes after I've set it to what I want. Why is it doing this?!

I am guessing you have plug and go turned on or you are pressing start charging. Make sure plug and go is turned off and just plug your car in and walk away. Don't press start charging. It does work it's just awful at showing you it's working.

Also make sure you are in config D if you don't have a CT clamp or config C if you do. The fact you say it's setting the current to a random value probably shows it's working as it's trying to balance the charge with solar export.

I have set up a charging schedule of 00.30 to 4.30 to benefit from a low tariff.. in Hybrid EV mode does this setting prevent any daytime charging even if more than 1.4kwh of spare solar ? Tried changing to Solar mode and makes no difference during the daytime ? (probably as I did not press the 'start charging' button.)

I noticed that even when in Solar Mode the car still charged overnight from the grid in the charging schedule window.

I had mine on config D and i kept messing around with my inverter battery charge rate settings and lost logs data on cloud. WTF. there is no app documentation so who knows how to set it up. Tech support were no use with issues. Gave up and set to config B grid only and inverter back to working as it should. this really needs sorted. feel like i was sold a pup
