import export figures reversed AIO

Hi all

Has anyone else had this issue with the AIO?

Yesterday afternoon suddenly the giv system was reading my export as import and vice versa, and at one point thought my home usage was 19kw as it was aggregating my home usage with my export figures!!

I've tried rebooting everything, and also, powering off and back on both the gateway and the AIO but the problem is persisting.
My smart meter is recording accurately (using octopus home mini)

I've upgraded to BMS 10 in the hope it solves it, currently its upgraded, but calibrating the battery (very slowly with a 160w discharge that will take days).

Any feedback/suggestions would be very welcome

Thanks

  • Do you have any other GivEnergy equipment, like a PV inverter or similar? I've found that the data from multiple devices is displayed based on some completely wrong assumptions, surprisingly so. I got solar using a GivEnergy inverter because I naively assumed that multiple things from the same ecosystem would add value, but I was very wrong. Annoyingly the data is all there, it's just displayed in a way which makes the GivEnergy app completely unusable so I just use HomeAssistant now
  • Import / export being reversed sounds like a CT clamp being the wrong way round. Did anything physically change around the time when the numbers readings reversed? I'm not sure if the AIO has a separate CT clamp, or uses something inside the gateway.

Also, why the 160W discharge on battery calibration? Is there a limit setup somewhere? Hitting the old "reset to defaults" button on the web portal might be a good starting point.

Thanks for the reply.

I'm assuming it has to be a software issue, as nothing has been changed/tampered with physically at all.
Totally agree re the CT clamp, but again, no idea where that is, or how to mess with it.

Thanks for the suggestion re "reset to default" - that has at least kicked the battery calibration to discharge at full 6kw, again, no idea why it was doing 150w, as I hadn't amended any settings, and all was set up for max charge & discharge down to 4% and up to 100%.

Everything was set up and running lovely with no intervention from me for the past 2 weeks, hands off, running on autopilot effectively, and with no reason it all went bizarre yesterday afternoon.

I'll see if there is any change once the battery has finished its calibration in the hope that finishes the migration to BMS 10 and everything is rosy

Cheers

Could be a software update had been applied. Or firmware I think to give it the proper name.

There's been reports of a few settings going a bit wrong on some of the upgrades, including stuff around the CT clamp

A quick email to GivEnergy support should be able to sort that. Or even a phone call, although not sure they are in on Sundays, think it's just Mon-Sat.

Thanks for reply

Firmware update and battery calibration hasn't fixed the issue

Will follow up with GE customer support tomorrow

This has resolved itself with no intervention from me
