Hi when I download the GivEnergy App on day of inverter and panels install, I ended up turning off WiFi on my phone as I was outside and it was slow. This was to connect to the inverter and set up. Since then I still cannot connect to Home; it’s just constantly trying to find it but when I opened up the App on my iPad, it immediately connected. Anyone have any ideas what I need to do please?

Miss Moneypenny I use Android. Not sure if it's the same on iOS (assuming that's what you have)...

From the menu in top-left, choose settings, then at the bottom there's 'local monitoring'. That has various options for finding and connecting to the inverter. Perhaps you've configured a fixed ip address which has now changed ?

Also does your wifi separate the 5GHz and 2.4GHz signals into different SSIDs? Ideally you will want to be on the same SSID as some routers seem to have difficulty routing between them, either because of network segregation or routing tables. Obviously if your inverter is connected to the guest network then it will also not be able to directly connect and you will be limited to "Away" connecting over the internet.
I am assuming that you have tried connecting to Home having switched WiFi back on, which is implied but not actually stated.

pwdst gosh i wish I understood it fully but looked into router settings and inverter was on 2.4GHz so put it on the 5 GHz as well. It’s worked but still unclear why because my iPad, which is connected to same router can pick it up at home every time? My iPhone couldn’t even locate the inverter when I tried to locate it manually. So strange and so many lost hours ☹️. Thank you for all your help and answers.

Miss Moneypenny The inverter can only connect on 2.4GHz, it’s a limitation of the wifi dongles in them.

Usually if you can’t get into home mode it’s because you are on different networks (eg guest network) or going into ‘local monitoring’ and doing a scan for the inverter IP address and setting it in the app will fix it. Whilst you are on your router, do set your inverter to a fixed IP address as that means the local monitoring will find the inverter much quicker next time

geoffreycoan hi thanks for info. The inverter was on the 2.4 GHz and same network as me (not guest) but my phone could not find it even doing a local scan. Anyway all sorted now and I’ve set the inverter to a fixed ip address now. Thank you.
