Charger doesn't recognised when plugged in

I had a GivEnergy car charger installed last week as well as solar panels, battery and inverter. Like many others I am getting the 26ground leak code (and installer is coming to check this), but the charger does not seem to recognise that I have plugged the charger into the car and so I can't start charging. I have solar enabled and prioritise solar to charger. I have tried resetting the charger and also switched off power and restarted. Sometimes it works, but most times it doesn't. Anyone had similar issues?

I was getting the same error 26:…. Sometimes 2 or 3 times per day. It would clear after 30-60 mins or so. My supplier advised that it was caused by high grid voltage. By looking at the inverter info via the portal I could see that the grid voltage was often up to 250-255v. Last Friday I had a GivEnergy voltage optimiser device installed which keeps the grid voltage down to 235-245v. There hasn’t been an error 26: with the EV charger so far since. Fingers still crossed.

I've just had the network operator out and apparently I am close to the transformer, so my incoming voltage is on the high side, but within limits - so now they are passing the buck back to Givenergy!! Did you have to pay to have the voltage optimiser fitted? Am I in a catch 22 situation where I either have a box with fancy flashing lights that is not fit for purpose because of where my house is located on the network, or I have to pay even more money to solve the problem because the EV charger can't cope with the network voltage.

I did pay. Approx £450 for the optimiser and install. The power provider will not do anything if they say that their supply is within limits. I figured the optimiser would ‘protect’ the charger and inverter over the long term. Most household appliances are not affected too much by voltage extremes but the GivEnergy kit is. You could argue that it’s a good thing i.e. self preservation. Also what’s to say an alternative EV charger wouldn’t have problems? Expensive and frustrating though it is.
