Failed Battery?

My 8.2 kWh battery was set to charge to charge from 4% to 85% on Octopus Go overnight. When I got up, the battery % was only 4%.

On downloading the power figures, only just over 1 kWh had been added, but the graph was showing the battery level at 5 kWh.

Has the battery, only installed 6 weeks ago, failed or is there a simple explanation?

I should have added, the meter readings show it was charging properly for the first 15 minutes before it went wrong. My car was also charging correctly at that time, and completed it's charge without problems.

This is typical from what I have read (And experienced) of the DC breaker cabling being installed incorrectly and either not tight enough in the terminals or the insulation is pinched between the clamps.
It is something you can look at yourself if you are relatively competent and happy with a screwdriver - just turn everything off (You should have a document which tells you how) and remove the cover off the DC breaker (And only the DC breaker!)
This is probably marked up GivEnergy and may well be green in places. Have a close look at the terminals - you may need to take the cables out - bottom seem to be the ones that give the most grief - and see if there are signs of pinching. If there are when you put the cable back in, make sure only the copper (Or the crimp if fitted - some do some don't) go between the clamp and do it up tight. Not gorilla tight, just tight.
Power it all back up and see if that works.

Not confident. I'll contact my installers. Thank you.

It was sorted remotely with a software update!
