This afternoon my battery is importing from the grid despite discharge being on. It seems like the eco keeps being turned off as well. It's almost like I have lost control of the system. I'm on Octopus Flux. Is anyone else having this problem?
Battery importing at peak time
Are you sure you're not on intelligent flux rather than flux?
That one controls your battery as required by octopus, e.g. octopus are in control not the customer.
TX200 No. Definitely on Flux. It has only been this afternoon but eco keeps being turned off. Imorting from grid whilst it should have been taking from the battery. Coincidentally wondered if Octopus were messing around as I changed to fixed for Gas but stayed on Flux for electricity. Have received email saying nothing to do with their end.
I'm at a loss to know what to do as sitting watching the dashboard in case eco gets switched off again.
Lynn I would take a look at the logs under the remote control section on the web portal - that should tell you if something is changing settings or not.
If there is external control then you could take a look at account security and see who you have granted access to (and revoke if needed)
Some things for you to check:
Check the GE dashboard 'Power graph' on the portal for today.
You may have been importing from solar, not from the grid.
Also check the SOC of your battery this afternoon. If it is low, Eco mode may be putting more energy into your battery to ensure that you can get through the peak 4-7pm period.
Can you could post a screenshot of the power graph with SOC trace included so that we can see what was happening.
Thanks
Rob
I have a screenshot of power graph and 2 random pages of log where I was trying to find what was keeping cancelling eco and also cancelling the charge times for 2am. I am at a loss as for last few months or more it has run ok.

And you are absolutely certain that you are not on Intelligent Flux?
There are so many changes in the logs, that it looks like something is controlling your inverter.
On the left-hand side, I can see an exclamation mark by '£', which signifies Giveback.
Is Giveback controlling your inverter?
And what does the ! indicate?
Rob
I have just double checked on cloud. You are correct. For some reason we are on Flux for import but Intelligent Flux for export. How has this happened and how can I get back to normal Flux for export? I have seen on log that server has made changes so that must be why. This has all changed when changed gas to fixed tariff.

contact Octopus customer service, either email or I find a quicker response by messaging on twitter, but either will do
Flux import and IOF export isn’t a valid combination and Octopus will rebill you when they realise the mistake. There’s two people on the Givenergy beta forum that have ended up with the same combination which shouldn’t happen, but weird that it has happened.
Thank you! I have tried phoning. Office closed. Have emailed but assume they are closed too. Will go on twitter and see if I get some response.
If you go into the octopus app, look for the devices menu, I think via the top right of the app. You should be able to see your inverter there and click disconnect.
That'll stop it controlling it.
Then speak to octopus via twitter or smart@octopus.energy email to get the tariff moved to normal flux export.
Lynn I am glad that we have collectively sorted out the origin of your problem.
You have discovered the 1st Law of Tariff and Connectivity problems': Issues always need to be resolved during a weekend or Bank Holiday.
The 2nd Law is: 'The office is closed at weekends'.
Do try send a DM to Octopus Energy on X. I have had responses during a weekend but I suspect they may need to contact their 'Smart team' (on Monday). It largely depends who picks up the message.
It is really good news that you know what is wrong and that Octopus is the cause.
Rob
Thank you both. Have now disconnected devices as suggested by TX200. Have send some deranged sounding emails and twitter messages so hop it will get sorted on Monday at the latest!
Am still having problems. Maybe our fault? Battery stuck on 77% and importing at this peak time. On app Eco is on. Timed discharge is on from 0800 until 2304. Timed export not enabled. Still importing.
I have uploaded power graph and last 3 pages of amendments. Why is battery stuck on 77%? I don't know why this has happened as I thought it was sorted. Eco is on and doesn't go off except when I turn it on and off to see if that will restart everything.

Any advice would be welcome. Givenergy reply to email was might have to wait up to 10 days for response. Might try phoning but not sure if they answer phones!
Timed discharge doesn’t work very well, without external controls to reset things after.
The best option is to reset to default, make sure eco is on and set a timed charge for the entire period of the off peak period.
If you want something more complicated than that, then you’ll need to use something external to GivEnergy to provide that in a stable manner. See other topics on the forum about this.
Thanks. I'll try that.
Nothing seems to change. Will have to try phoning. Still 77% and importing. I had it all set up to charge early morning which it has been. Then using the battery for rest of day and evening. Today has been sunny so had worked well until about 5ish.
Hopefully problem sorted. The inverter had switched off in the garage. Heavy rain last night but why it went beserk at early evening today is concerning. Not good if we're not here.
Still weird that inverter switched off. All working as it should now. All settings reset to how they are normally. Thanks for looking at post!
