I am contemplating adding an EV charger to my set-up but have some questions around who can and cannot undertake this work and any considerations:

My current configuration is a GE Hybrid Gen 3 5kW Inverter, with an AIO 6kW and Gateway attached,

I have two options for the EV charger:

  1. A non GE charger
  2. A GE charger

If I get a non GE charger:
Presumably I can use any suitably qualified electrician to fit?
If so, are they able to connect it into the Gateway where there is space for an EV connection?
If that is the case what considerations in terms of warranty should I consider?

If I get a GE charger
Presumably this would be connected into the system via the Gateway?
Do I need to get a GE certified electrician to fit?
If so, does it need to be the same installer who did the original installation?
If not, does the installer then take on responsiblity for the whole set-up or just the EV portion?
