I would like to charge my car overnight, so that's fine: I set up a schedule with Hybrid mode so it uses cheap overnight power from the grid to charge the car (as well as an equivalent setting for my house batteries). I then want to make use of any surplus PV during the day. This would require and EV schedule for the relevant time of day but in Solar mode. The problem is the EV charger only allows one mode for all schedules, so this isn't possible. It would be a lot more useful if the Mode was specific to each schedule rather than being a top-level choice that applies to all schedules.

What tariffs are you on and do you have any other equipment such as heat pump as it maybe be beneficial financially to export excess solar and have your account credited. For example charge your car and house battery overnight in Grid mode with Intelligent Octopus Go between 23:30 and 05:30 at 7p per kWh and export excess solar with Octopus Fixed Export at other times at 15p. Your inverter set to Eco mode. Assuming all your equipment is GivEnergy.
Similar tariffs from Eon.
