Hi all, this is really for AIO and GW, but if you have other kit I am guessing it would be the same or similar process.
Here are the instructions to get a broken AIO/GW going if a FW or BMS update fails.
You will need a usb-a to usb-a cable
AIO
Only use the usb port in the top of the device not the usb next to the breaker.
Turn off the AIO (press the blue button, flick the breaker, turn of the Breaker to the AIO in GW.
Plug in the usb cable
In files you will see the drive and it should only have MSN.txt. (If it has any other files delete them. (I did not formate the drive)
Copy the appropriate files to the drive (I did FW first). In this case there will be 3 files.
Turn AIO back on (reverse of turning it off above)
Wait until it finishes the update (I logged into the cloud and checked it had updated before moving on (it took a while to update in the cloud)
Repeat the process for the BMS (turn AIO off etc
Once completed and confirmed in GE Cloud I moved to AIO-2
Once completed I moved to GW
Gateway instructions
Turn off AIO’s, then flip the breaker in the GW
Turn off the PV system, then flip the PV breaker on the AIO
turn off the GW (power cut to home)
Same procedure as above, plug cable into usb socket (under GE)
Check MSN.txt (s/n), copy files
Turn it back on.
Turn every thing else back on.
Note:- if you do format the drive it is fat (not fat32)
