Hi I'm in Melbourne ,Australia
My AIO/Gateway was working just ok on wifi
When the installer came back to upgrade the switchboard
Asked them to switch to ethernet as the cables were there from installation
They adjusted the dip switches and no luck
Even switching back to wifi cant connect
So no monitoring at all
Any experts had luck with this ?
Procedure ect
Still chasing the installer to come back
But not sure he really knows

I don't know if it's the same in your location as the UK but in the UK the Gateway has a Ethernet connection on the PCB and another which is a black flying lead. When the PCB's were manufactured they did not wire up the one on the PCB. You need to us the black flying lead connection if it has one as this was added later to get around the PCB manufacturing mistake.

Yes there is a Black lead with a connector inside the gateway not connected to anything
Do you put a joiner on that instead of the plug marked Lan
Might have to also check that the cables are wired right presuming they will be T568b
Also
So many switches to turn it all off and on
I worry im doing it in the right sequence
disconnect your ethernet cable from the main PCB and plug it into black lead but make sure that your dip switch settings are set for Ethernet on the PCB 123 ON 4 Off
You should then be able to connect to the Givenergy portal

The only way I know to shut the Gateway off is to switch the power off in meter cupboard IE the Incoming supply but then your whole house will be off. I didn't do that when I changed from Wifi to Ethernet I just changed the cables over and then pressed the reset button which is located on the PCB next to LAN socket that doesn't work.

No problem David glad you are up and running again. I knew about the black wire because a few weeks ago I found out like yourself that the PCB LAN socket does not work. I asked the GE support guy who came out to fix a faulty PCB in one of my AIO's why the LAN connection didn't work. He said that during design they never got connected up correctly during manufacture and the black lead had to be retro fitted to solve the issue. Sounds like and expensive mistake to me.
