Graph queries and grid draw - is it normal?

I am new to the whole AC inverter and 8.2kw battery with solars.
Is it normal that
1, The grid is constantly used for import and export (under 100W). Is there a way that I can stop that?

2. What is the difference between Grid import (with a negative value) and grid export (with a positive value).

It's transient, remember the portal is a snapshot and only updated every 5 mins, so if it happens to be importing when it takes a reading it'll look like it's importing for 5 minutes.

The app (on home setting) is updated every 5 seconds so a bit more representative.

There's a lag while the inverter responds to demand or excess, it's usually a few seconds. On days when light levels are changing constantly as the sun comes in and out from behind clouds it tends to be "worse" than days with more constant illumination - same is true for constantly varying house demand.

Over a whole day I find it adds up to, at worst, a few hundred watts.

2. On the power graph/card, import of power to the house from the grid is shown as a red negative value. export of surplus PV (or battery) power to the grid as a positive value.
