This isnt that Givenergy related as such, but im looking to use it as a comparison of similar vintage inverters. (& Giv have little to worry about as its a dead end, EOL product im comparing together)
Because I've tidied up the garage a little bit, the rule is this space must now be filled. As I was working nearby the seller, I picked up an Eaton 3.6kW system with a 4.2kWh battery (comprised of 2nd life Nissan leaf cells) - new old stock from 2018 (so same era as my Gen 1 hybrids)
First impressions: this thing is over engineered, incredibly heavy, incredibly large (it took up the entire rear section behind the seats in a swb VW t6 Kombi) and not very energy dense (90% DoD but what remains now is part of the fun). Nor is it expandable on the DC battery side without literally hacking up its battery cables.
It does however have a far better local admin control system AND something that Giv really should think about - a local API running on the inverter itself for control.
