If I allow auto battery control, will I still be able to force export to maximise benefit of my export tariff?

I guess it depends on what tariff you go for, but I think if you sign for an Intelligent tariff, you hand over all control to ANOther.
Plenty of other posts on here about this.
My suggestion, get Intelligent control yourself with Home Assistant and Predbat and still have control yoursef

Better to sign up for cheap night time tariff for 6 hours, than giving away all control and not be able to control export or import.. But I am utilizing 100% of my battery for 3/4 of the year, so I know my needs, tariff with mandatory control may be more suitable for someone else.
