Hi,
We have had our (gen 3 5kw inverter & 9.5kw battery)solar system in around 4 month now everything has been working fine until 22/12/25 when the battery light was going orange and the app reading 0% then taking power from the grid, after looking into it we are getting BMS COMMUNICATION FAILURE notifications in the log it's become alot more frequent, is there anything I can do my end to rectify this issue?
Any advice would be appreciated or a name or number of someone that could help fix our problem.
I have already turned my full system off and on again, nothing changed

BMS communication failure
Not my realm of expertise, but perhaps a bad electrical connection somewhere - seems to go wrong at highish power. Discharge is mostly fine except when there was a large spike in demand.
As an experiment, I would try reducing grid charging power to see if it behaved a bit better.
If it's only 4 months in, worth asking your installer to come and have a look.
BMS communications failure is the inverter failing to talk to the battery. This could be a loose plug between the two or a hardware failure of either device.
As suggested, get your installer back to look at it as it’s only 4 months old. Get him to check everything out. That will be quicker than getting GivEnergy support and they’ll probably suggest the installer goes anyway
I had similar symptoms when my system was a couple of months old. Under full load the system would fall over then reset once it had cooled down. GE changed the BMS board first, but that didn't fix it. It turned out to be a dodgy orange battery cable, since that was changed I have had no problems.
Thanks fingers crossed its just as simple as a loose wire
