I wonder if anyone can help me to understand what is happening with my inverter stats? I have solar with GE inverter and 5.2kw battery (Gen 1). I also have a heat pump (Vaillant). My electricity supplier is Octopus and I am on their Flux tariff. I am very particular about not using electricity imported from the grid during the Peak pricing period to which end the major services (when they are on timed) of heating and water are timed to go off 15 minutes before Peak starts and not to come on again until 20 minutes after Peak ends. I try to always ensure that the battery is at 100% at the start of Peak, whether that is from the grid or the panels.
Generally speaking my daily consumption, from the grid, over Peak is around zero with the occasional very small amount; as examples, in February I consumed 5.92kw and March 1.10kw. So far, during April I have imported 10.90kw during Peak with imports every day and always at the 18.30 and 19.00hrs time capture.
Yesterday, as I was at my PC, I opened the portal and left it on a second monitor and for the whole 3hr period there was import from the solar but none reported from the grid and no consumption from the battery which was still at 100% at 19.00. The consumption over that period was between 200 – 300w. I checked the inverter stats and they showed total import, for the day, from the grid up to 16.00 was 13.7kw and at 19.00 total import was the same 13.7kw. Equally neither the Power Graph nor the Energy Graph on the portal showed any import.
Additionally, for that whole 3hr period the portal and the app showed constant export to the grid, from the panels, varying from 3.2 to 2.2kw until about 18.00 when export dropped off slowly as the sun went down. At 19.00 the export was about 80w. The downloaded stats, however, showed just 1.50kw exported over the Peak period.
Doesn’t make a whole of sense to me. I look forward to reading the statement at the end of my month!
