The local first, Apple centric Homebridge plugin now comes with Automation:
Tonight, assuming your battery is still reasonably full around 19:30, you should expect behaviour roughly like this:
- GivHome detects:
- Excess Energy Export enabled
- outside cheap window
- current time >= configured evening start
- battery SOC above reserve + margin
- It then:
- calculates available export energy
- creates a temporary export slot
- enables discharge/export locally via REST
- allows the inverter to sell/export excess battery energy
- As SOC falls:
- GivHome continually re-evaluates
- once reserve threshold is reached, export stops automatically
- ECO mode is restored
- At 23:30 cheap rate:
- normal overnight charging automation resumes
- battery refills cheaply again
The important difference is that the automation is now:
- adaptive
- self-limiting
- battery-SoC-aware
- fully local
- and not dependent on multiple timersexcess-energy-export.pdf92kB
