Has anyone managed to get their system upgraded or expanded post Givenergy closure?
I have a solar/battery system installed in 2023 and was hoping to add a second battery once the system was proven.
Asked my installer for this in February 2026 but they were reluctant to quote.
They now tell me that unless Givenergy tech support is open ( which is very unlikely) they cannot configure the system to accept the new battery.
Batteries are now effectively 'plug and play'. So long as you use the correct cables you just connect the new battery to the old one and set the dip switches on each so one is 'Master' and one is 'slave'. They should then look after themselves and th inverter will recognise the additional battery. Be aware, though, if you source another battery (there's still quite a few in the marketplace they won;t have a warranty and you insall at your own risk. Plenty have done this, mostly because they could pick up a second battery cheap enough to have a go.
Edit: You also need to connect the two batteries chassis earths - you can make up a simple 4mm2 earth cable to achieve this.
