Home Consumption Surge

First, I am new to this brave new world of home generation and storage.
In the past week I had a 4 kW Solar PV system, a 3.6 Hybrid Inverter and two packs of 2.6 Eco Batteries for a total of 5.2kW of storage.
I have had two issues to date. The first is the Portal reports the system as only ever storing 2.6kW in the batteries, as if one battery pack is idle. I have emailed both Givenergy and the Installer to get to the bottom of this, but feel free to comment!
The main issue I have today is that having seemingly managed the PV and Home load the Inverter has gone bonkers and for the past 5hrs has shown the house as consuming between 6.7 and 6.9kW with only minor variation. There was minimal load first thing this morning of 314W and there is nothing more switched on in the house. I checked and the CT Clamp is in exactly the same place as it was installed and nothing has changed. Not surprisingly it has drained the battery to cope.
The electric ovens, immersion heater, dishwasher, tumble dryer and washing machine are all off. Has anyone experienced this apparent anomalous performance? Has anyone any ideas?

Chris_D I suspect your batteries are going through their post-commissioning calibration. When the batteries are delivered, they are approximately 50% charged. The calibration involves fully discharging them, then charging them to 100% before then leaving the system to operate in your chosen mode.

This is normal but does catch people out, especially when there's no clue in the inverter notifications or remote control log to indicate that this is happening. Your installer may have mentioned it but because it's been working for a few days, you might have expected the calibration to happen as soon as it's all switched on, but it doesn't. There have been a number of pleas to allow the owner to choose when to start the calibration process so we can sink the energy to charge an EV or something and then charge using the solar array. Anyway, that request is still outstanding.

Many thanks. I saw on another post that some (including me) would like a comprehensive user manual, even something online. The Installer gave me a lot of verbal information, but short of taping it there is not much more!

But a decent user manual would be good. Sounds like a group of people on here are putting something together.
