Residual hardware value? Secondhand inverter?

With the AC5 hopefully arriving next year I would be very interested in replacing my AC3 with one. I doubt there will be any kind of "upgrade" offering which means replacing the unit. So my questions to you wonderful people are

1, do you think there is any value in a 2 year old AC3?
2, would you ever consider a secondhand inverter?

GE admins if you are watching, is the equipment even transferable? I am hoping it is not just scrapped if people like me replace/upgrade a part.

Yeah they pop up quite regular on eBay. £600-800 seems to be the going rate for an AC3.
Someone bought a dead Hybrid 5 for £300 via make an offer thing.

Hmm I didn't check ebay due a bad experience. But intersting, and really quick reply! Cheers hoggy

I've a love/hate relationship with eBay as you can be burned quite easily from either side of the transaction but it is handy for seeing going rates.
I'm sure if you put it on FB Marketplace or even advertised it on one of the Givenergy FB Group someone would take it off your hands pretty quick*

*i don't know the implications of transferring ownership on warranty or how you unshackle it from whoever your existing installer was though.

That side of things I will be asking my installer on Monday about. They are coming for 1 last check for the oversized panels I am adding and I have a few other questions!

I'm sure you can get a second hand inverter. YMMV with getting an electrician to install it though.
