Changing the time on the inverter.

I have an AC 3.0.

The portal, app and reports all show times in line with BST but the damned inverter appears to be running GMT.

Anyone able to tell me how to change it.

Remote control on the inverter page of the portal has a slot for it but it doesn't accept input.

I joined Octpus Go last night and my charging started one hour too early. Of course, I can get around it by fudging the start and end times but, really, I should be able to get everything in line.

Nah, all sensible computers around the world operate on UTC, which oddly enogh is pretty identical to GMT. 😀

I'm not sure, but I've a feeling that the inverter's local timezone is supposed to be set by the installer at commisioning time.

Inverters run in UTC/Zulu time everywhere, it's just the display that is in local timezone (set in Account Settings - Timezone). Your app, portal and reports compare the inverter UTC with your timezone and adjust the display accordingly for the current date and time.

The problem with integrating between systems is that some energy suppliers' tariffs move with the seasons (GMT/BST) while others stay at UTC all year round (EDF). Don't fight it. Just work out whether it's the same time all year round or not and set the charge/discharge time on the inverter accordingly.

Our EDF off-peak tariff is 00:00-05:00GMT (strictly speaking, they should specify it as UTC but that'd confuse customers) all year round. This time of year, we set the inverter off-peak charging to 01:00 to 06:00. At the end of the month, we will set the inverter off-peak charge to 00:00-05:00.
