We had a battery/over system fitted a couple of weeks ago and have octopus go so also charge the battery during our cheap tariff period. Initially it worked correctly, charging to whatever we set it to each night. The system has now started charging to 100% every night despite setting the timed charge to 50%. Givenergy cloud webpage confirms this has been set but it is ignored each night. When we check the next morning the timed charge page has reset itself to 100% charge and the battery is fully charged. Any suggestions?
Timed Charge not charging to set level
Icosens Have you got "Tariff Automations" set to on? This will over-ride any manual settings. I suggest that if you want to charge to anything other than 100% turn-off Tariff Automations. Hope that helps.
Thanks, I’ll give that a go.
Hi All,
My inverter is doing exactly this! Recently got onto an EV tarrif and want to control the % charge each night, but its ignored and charges to 100%.
Where can I find the "Tariff Automations" setting?
Many thanks,
Paul

Lambertox12 Where can I find the "Tariff Automations" setting
simpler to use the rest all to default and then re enter what you want ( eco then timed charge %)
Have you added your Octopus account to the portal? I found that causes 100% charges regardless of what you set elsewhere (and even when no automations are selected).
@Ben_Collier - thanks for your reply.
I'm with Bulb (they launched an EV tariff so I switched over). Don;t have an EV yet but attempting to charge the batteries.
I've never had or set any smart tariff info on the Inverter. And a week ago was the first time I changed anything on the Inverter since Eco Mode was working perfectly.
Tonight I'm gonna try restricting the charge time as a way to control the battery charge level.
Lambertox12 If it's still not doing what you want having done a reset to defaults with ECO enabled and a timed charge set to less than 100%, give the support team a web chat and ask then to look at the settings you can't see.
Lambertox12 if you are still struggling, Tariff Automations deselected was the answer for me. I tried resetting to default but that didn’t work in my case. The Tariff Automations option can be found by expanding the Smart Tariff box (above the My EV Charger one), and I just deselected both buttons.
Thanks Icosens
I've had a look and still can't find anything related to Tariff Automations, I've presume you're referring to pages in the App and not the Cloud website?
In the app, the Smart Tariff box shows me a list of energy providers to choose from, I clicked through and none of them mention Tariff Automations.
Sorry in advance if I'm being dumb!
Lambertox12 Those are the tariff automations. In the portal you need to edit the dashboard and enable the tariff panel to see that same options.
Overnight charge upper limit used to work but two nights ago and last night the battery just charged until full. I had wanted to leave some room for solar this morning.
I'm using Inverter Firmware D0.599 - A0.599
and battery Firmware 3001.
any ideas what is wrong ?
I didn't change anything to do with tariff but will try to ensure 'tariff autimations' is 'off'
kwmc With those firmware versions, I'm presuming you have an AC-coupled inverter. Elsewhere on this forum, someone commented that firmware versions ending x99 were beta versions to make sure they don't get updated by production versions (eg D534-A534 which is the latest for AC-coupled on the KB)
Latest production battery firmware is 3007.
The only posting I've seen relating battery charge level to firmware was that the current (ie non-Beta) AC-coupled firmware battery reserve level doesn't work, but at 599, yours should. If it's not smart tariff automations, I'd give Givenergy a call or web chat, ask them to look at things, and feed back here what the resolution was.
Tim The firmware was last updated with a beta 599 version as you say due to the battery reserve level not working. I wanted to be able to keep some in reserve in case of a power cut. I don;t want to lose that capability by going to a 'production' version.
I'll get onto support if the problem pesists.
