Inverter ip - local data

Any easy work through for the non technical people on how to set the inverter IP addresses manually in the app so I can get reliable local data? Mine seems not to be able to find them or do so very intermittently

Smk82 In the app (at least the Android version) go to Settings > Preferences > toggle Search Inverter Manually and in the IP Addresses box enter the IP address for your inverter. Hit return and if all good a green tick should appear.

However, it only works for me when I'm on the 2.4Ghz band not the 5Ghz

Cdent not quite what I meant. I know how/where to set it in the app. More to how to find the specific up address for the inverters

Smk82 ah I see, you would need to log in to your router to find that out as that's what will assign the IP

It's name in the list of devices will start with two letters, perhaps WF or WH or similar. Then a load of numbers. If that helps narrow it down.

TX200 Someone previously suggested the Net Analyser app for my phone which worked well for me (Android).

Think I’ve got it now. (Although for some reason the inv up addresses disappear if I go out of the preferences screen and back in again)

Smk82 mine did that after the latest update. Go to preferences/advanced settings and clear your data.
Then add the ip which should then be persistent.

I added my inverter to the list of 'IP address reservations' in my router setting so it wil allways keep that same IP address every after a router reboot or powercut..

You shuld be able to be the same in pretty much all routers - google for instructions.
I've then stuck a sticker on the side of my inverter with the desired IP address for future reference...

I set the Dongle to have a Static IP and turned off its DHCP request. So the Dongle always has the same IP

I noticed that when configured for DHCP the inverter address jumps around after lease end. TheDragon and dp100 are right about setting the inverter's IP address to be static, it makes the app more reliable on 'Home' data.
