I have updated my battery via usb with a file sent from GivEnergy but when I inserted the USB as instructed nothing happened. How do I get this up and running again? Have left USB in the port as it is an older model and did not have one in originally. Any advice welcome. PV is working but battery is not charging or discharging?
DId you turn the battery off before inserting the USB stick, then back on again?
wilfleek Yes I did and then I also tried with the battery on. I will try what you have suggested once more and see what the outcome is. I've done exactly as instructed by the GivEnergy support 'to the letter' so not sure why it hasn't updated?
Have a look at the contents of your USB stick on a PC. There should be just one file on it, (mine was a .BIN file) - any small fragmented files left on there will stop the update.
wilfleek I've formatted the USB and tried again. Still no luck. Will have to check in with GivEnergy tomorrow and see if there is something they are able to assist with remotely! Thank you for your suggestions; most appreciated!
Was it the USB stick that was already in the battery or a new one? I seem to recall that there's a limit on the maximum size that the battery can access.
