Hi everyone
New to this forum
I have 6.1 solar pv coupled to a GivEnergy 9.5 battery and an AC inverter 3.0
I am currently on the Octopus energy tariff as we do have an EV which we charge as well as the Givenergy battery at night 0:30 to 4:30
We do not have an export SEG. When I look at my dashboard on the Givenergy cloud, I find that I do export energy from my battery to the grid
How do I stop that?
The inverter is set on ECO and timed charged at night percentage of charge is set every nigh5 according to Solacast prediction

Balou how much are you talking about?
There is always a little bit of export and import just because of the reaction time of the inverter - it can’t cope with step loads so either dumps to the grid if something is turned off or imports from the grid if something is turned on.
Usually recovers in a few seconds - 30 is not unreasonable but is usually less.
One or two kWh a month is not unusual if the solar is otherwise enough to cover the house load.

If you are on ECO and only set up a timed charging period then your battery should not discharge to grid.

Be aware that as the portal only polls data every 10 minutes so it's snapshot and can be VERY misleading, especially coupled with the margin of error of the CT clamps, etc. You WILL frequently see odd combinations that don't make sense. Seeing export values in the 'now' does not necessarily mean its really happening or, if it is, it is only transitory.

Check the half hourly graphs in the daily report as again the data shown is the total in that half hour and not a transitory peak which is meaningless.

Those values may be what the Givenergy portal reports but if you monitor your smart meter, you will likely see different values. Our import (given a large array, dual inverters and batteries) is usually less than 1kWh/day or 25kWh/month as measured on the smart meter, even last week while we were away from home.

Thank you for the replies
I am still trying to get to grips with the system. I am on the Go tariff and try to do most of my energy inefficient stuff during the Go low price period
My ASHP runs 24 hours per day but is well controlled by my thermostats, even the DHW is run during the Go period
