Hi
I have a 5.2kw battery and recently I have noticed that my battery only charges to 3.2kw.
Is this a software error or is my battery not working as desired?

Regards
Chris

Could be woirth checking the "Battery Options" in the "settings" area of the inverter area on the portal. You may find the lower limit is set high (should be 4%).

Charges from grid? Solar? Has it ever charged to 5.2Kwh? What operating range for your battery is set on the portal?
What charge power is set? What %SOC does the system think the battery is at when you think it's charged to 3.2Kwh?

Can you post a graph showing your problem?

Milburn1980 depending how old the battery is it may only be an 80% DoD battery (depth of discharge). So although it's full capacity is 5.2kWh, you would get 80% of that. Granted this is more than the 3.2kWh you're seeing, but as @wilfleek mentioned check the battery options to make sure you have the lower limit set to 4% (which is the minimum to protect the battery)

I have a similar issue but the battery was jumping from 80% to 100%. Today it jumped from 43% to 100%. I spoke to Giv technical support and they said it was a firmware issue they were working on but he said that my battery would be full. That cannot be correct as it was flat this morning and we have only received 4kwh into my 8.2kWh battery. Felt like I was being fobbed

Marsh45290 It is a known issue, similar to the one others experiences along with the x% sudden drop to 0%. The next firmware is in testing by GE, a lot of us are waiting on the results of that testing to fix these various state of charge % issues.

Marsh45290 he said that my battery would be full.

Whether it is or not, you have access to 4%-100% which, if the BMS thinks 43% or 80% is 100%, you will only get that amount of power out. Your battery is not performing as it should. "Firmware fix" is otherwise known as "jam tomorrow". Most of us aren't experiencing this problem, but those of you who are, are justified in feeling really teed off. Maybe the firmware upgrade will fix the problem; I do hope so for your sakes and for the sake of Givenergy which (IMO) has good products and technology. It would also enable them to make progress in other areas of development which have been long-promised.

Hi Everyone
Thanks for your suggestions - it all seems the right settings.
I noticed that there was an upgrade on the batteries software and it seems to have sorted out the issue.

Many thanks

I have the 5.2 kWh battery and have twice seen it jump from 60% to 100%.
Yesterday just after lunch time the battery had received 3.4kWh and it jumped 60% to 100%.
Today very similar blue sky weather as yesterday and its mid afternoon, the battery has received 4.3kWH is at 80% and still charging. So today it appears to be performing normally.

I agree its not consistent - but think the only reason I have noticed is on dimmer days when I don't create more than 3-4kw of energy in a day and the battery tells me its 100%. I think I may submit this as an issue for GivEnergy to look into.

I am also experiencing a similar problem I had a second battery installed and now have two 5.2kW batteries. The usual output from these when fully charged is usually less than 7.2kW. My installer has informed me he is waiting for codes from GivEnergy to rectify this.
Surely in 18 month they should have solved this issue.
