Hi, so we have a weather warning of strong winds. Ok I know it’s not gale force. But it has me worried all the same (we are new to solar panels)
Do we need to worry?
Do we need to do anything?
Do you have insurance?
TIA

Strong winds
Every installer should give you insurance for the job they do it. In case your solar panels will fly away. TBH nothing to worry about. House insurance should cover this as well. Regards

On the home insurance, it is worth telling your insurer you have panels and how much of the roof they cover. I was advised to do that by an estate agent many moons ago. First solar 9 years ago. It never affected my premium but I do always tell me insurer.
We had outs installed last July and storm Arwin hit our area hard. No issues at all.
Likewise. Our panels have been up nearly 12 years - south facing garage roof with open fields letting the prevailing south westerly winds through raw. Never even rattled. I think the usual mounting systems, if installed correctly, are well up to storms. Of course if your roof itself is weak then . . .
