If I had a diesel generator is it easy enough to connect to my 8.2kw battery?

didgit1234 If you have to ask, you might do better to get a quote from a sparkie with backup power supplies experience who can do the work competently and give you a warranty. Technically, it's not difficult, except you might want to include an inverter of some sort into the mix, and some electrical protection for the different components.

If you are looking to connect a backup generator in case of grid failure, be vary careful, as if your battery's or solar export, there is no Grid to absorb it.
At best the Inverter or generator trips, at worst one or both goes pop and I very much doubt the GivEnergy warranty would be valid.
