Battery being charged from grid?

When I came down for breakfast this morning, I was alarmed to see our electricity consumption was 3kW. Upon investigation, it turned out the battery was taking charge from the grid.

It was at 1%, and the sun wasn't up, so there was nothing at all coming from the panels. The system mode setting in the app for Charge Mode is Solar, and I haven't got any extra automations or anything interfering with the system.

Why was this happening? Does it sometimes take a bit of charge from the grid to prevent it becoming over-discharged? When the battery got to 4% it stopped taking grid power.

NickElliott 4% is supposed to be the minimum charge level, if your battery dips below this it will top up at whatever charge rate you have set to get back to the 4%. This is supposed to be in place for the health of the battery.

Cdent Ah, that explains it, thanks!
Good to know the system is working as designed.

NickElliott You may have suffered from the sudden drop in SOC that is covered in a separate topic regarding v3007 firmware. If you have a look at the portal you should see if it dwindled to 4% and carried on going or dropped from a greater value
