with cloudy days I've started to force charge our battery overnight on off-peak. However, it discharges almost straightaway eg if i'm charging my car, which is no saving. Is there a way to ensure that a charge of battery overnight is only used to off-set the day usage?
Mudd Make sure that the inverter ECO mode is eanbled, then make the overnight charge periods for Givenergy battery and EV the same start and finish times; they won't interfere with each other then. The house load will be fed from grid during the timed charge period (hence why it doesn't discharge to EV). Set the Givenergy Charge to % to be whatever you want to have in the battery at the end of the period.
