Scheduled discharge home demand does a full export

Here's what I'm trying to schedule.
Charge Battery from Grid 06:00-08:00 up to 75%.
Only discharge the battery from 12:00 (noon) - 06:00.

I don't want the battery to get consumed until after 12:00 noon.

Charging the battery from grid is fine. That's working.

If I use the mobile app and set discharge mode to Scheduled, and Home Demand - it just discharges at max rate to the grid. So not working as expected.

If I go to the web portal, I turn on Timed Discharge for 12:00 - 06:00 and the same thing happens. I look at the app, and the Discharge mode is scheduled and home demand but it just exports everything at max rate.

Am I doing something wrong, or is this a bug?
I've triple checked that I've set to "home demand" and not "full export".

feidhlim if you want it to meet home demand stick it in Eco mode with a timed charge. From what others have said timed discharge doesn't seem to work. But in Eco mode you can't tell it not to use the battery until a certain time, it'll just meet house demand

If you have home automation you could use that to trigger the neccessary combinations. However, the timed discharge is not really what you want to use here as it doesn't work the way you expect. You could automate the discharge rate, though, setting it to zero where you don't want to use the battery and full when you do.

Cdent That's what I had being doing and letting the battery charge to 75% and leaving the timed charge on until 12:00. Problem there I find is that because I tell it to charge to 75%, and the home load is relatively high (I have the heating on until 12:00) I seems to bounce and draw from the battery, then top it back up.

What I'm trying to achieve is that the battery charges from grid up to 75% and then holds that and does not discharge anything until after 12:00. That's when I looked at adding in the timed discharge but as we see that seems broken.

cluelesscris I don't unfortunately. My automation consists of a reminder on my phone to set a 100% reserve when I wake up during the charge cycle, and turn it off at noon. 🙂

feidhlim Presumably you have a Time of Use (ToU) tariff and you want to save the battery to supply house load from midday onwards? Is that because your battery will only supply house load for 18 hours (midday to 6am)? Our ToU tariff is off-peak from midnight to 5am, so we charge the battery and supply the house load from grid during this time. We charge the battery to anything from 50% to 100% overnight depending on what our energy plans are and the forecast PV the following day. Some nights the batteries don't actually take any charge, sometimes it's just a small amount. The inverters are left in ECO mode all the time with the timed charge during the off-peak.

Another way to prevent the battery discharging rather than changing your reserve when you want to hold it, is to reduce the battery discharge power to 0W. It's still a manual intervention though. One thing you could try is a timed discharge (from the portal) at midday for five minutes although I'm not sure whether ECO would pick up after the timed discharge had finished.
