Hi,

I have noticed that the EM115 is under-reporting net import by 150-200W, compared with the smart meter. So while the Givenergy looks to be doing a good job keeping normal usage to close to 0.5-1kwh a day, in reality it is 3-4kwh.

Is there way to trim the EM115 to be more accurate? I cannot see an obvious way in the EM115 manual.

Thanks

Karcsi no they are (from memory) MID approved so can’t be adjusted. The only thing that you can do is make sure the CT isn’t picking up some interference and the tails aren’t modified (cut basically).
The only other thing to check is that the ct ratio is configured in the meter correctly.

anglefire Super, thanks. The clamp was loose. Now clipped on properly, it is perfect.

Karcsi You will probably find that the Givenergy portal still under-reports actual grid import, but the inverter will be working really well. I think the values logged in the portal are the same as the ones controlling the inverter response and don't integrate well as they might - they lag behind. Our portal reports a usage of 0.1-0.2kWh/day compared to the energy supplier's smart meter of <1kWh/day. Either way, we are saving money and the plant is working well. Just be circumspect about how much your actual consumption is; whether it's right or wrong, it's the energy supplier's smart meter. The portal is really useful for oversight of performance day to day but whatever it says your import/export is, it's your smart meter that you pay your bill on.

Which smart meter gave you got as there was one that was causing issues for Powerwall users.

It was reporting reactive power as consumption but not export IIRC.
