Total newby here, so please go softly.

The portal Inverter/Software tab is showing the Battery firmware is currently 3005, and there is an update available.

Clicking this starts the process, but this freezes at Verifying Update 95% and then nothing. Reloading the portal (after leaving it for a day) just shows the same as when I started - Battery Firmware 3005.

Any ideas, and do I even need to update?

Inverter firmware version is D0.450-A0.451 if this helps.

Cheers

Hop on the chat tool on givenergy.co.uk. They may do it for you or will talk you through a manual method.

robgallop Just be aware that a firmware update will also trigger a recalibration which might start straightaway, or it might not and you might have to call/webchat again to ask them to trigger it again. If you're lucky it will discharge during the day/evening and charge off-peak. If you're not, it will discharge during off-peak and charge during the day when there's no PV.

I would wait a while until the firmware is updated again - its undergoing beta testing and there seems no real benefit to most to upgrade to 3007

I had this same issue. Turns out there was no memory stick in the battery to allow the update to run. I had to take the front panel off the battery and put a memory stick in the slot.

Likewise, failed memory stick in one of my batteries was my problem also.
However, I am on Inverter gen1 DO.450.AO.499 and 2off 8.2 batteries on 3005 and have only experienced the SOC drop once since my installation last January.
So currently leaving everything as is, until the SOC issues are confirmed fixed.

Check if a USB is in the battery BMS.
4mm Allen key needed to remove cover.

Would wait out though. As new firmware in testing, with various configurations
